Default Older NP X9 mast

Anyone know if the NP X9 mast bend has "evolved'? I have an old 490 np x9 mast from about 2004. It's in perfect condition. I'd like to use it in a newer evoIII 9.5. Would this work?
I hear that the new np race sails are lower tension and don't exhibit the mast snapping behavior of the rs racing sails.
I'm not racing, just want a big light wind slalom sail that will rig on a mast i already own.

Hi there,

I currently use an x9 530 with my evo4 formula sails. Rigs nicely and the bend is obviously correct still with the newer sails. Hopefully the same for the 490,

Hey Katapult - thanks for the response...Is your x9 as old as mine? i.e. from circa 2004?

It's sweet mast, superlight and in great condition so it's a shame to let it linger in the basement.

They changed in 2008 when they moved the production of the masts over to china, will still be ok but 2012 mast will have slightly different characteristics.
