Hi Windsurfers,
My local club has had some good success getting new people into the sport. I thought I'd share this blog with pictures that describes our most recent event. http://jimbodouglass.blogspot.com/2007/07/wets-intro-to-windsurfing.html -James |

You don't need to spend a lot of money to begin this sport. You do need to spend a lot of time, though.

Ha ha. Yes, money is definitely an issue, as is storage space and roof racks for transport.
But we think that by helping people out with loaner equipment and a few cheap or free lessons, we can get them excited enough about windsurfing that they won't mind dropping some $$ for their own gear. Also, by staying in touch with them through our club, we can make sure they buy appropriate gear when they do buy. For those who don't want to buy new, we have swap meets and stuff with lots of cheap used equipment. |
