Hey!
My $0.02 on new site (from point of view web developer with 10 years experience): 1. Hate flash based sites - I can't install flash, not allowed (and not only me). So I see nothing. If you want to use flash that much, you have to implement at least possibility to swich to HTML based site, so everybody can see it. 2. Hate flash based sites - Where is navigation? 3. Forum - Where is navigation? 4. Guys! You succefully manage to screw used to be pretty good site! Andrew |

I like the new site. The new forum software has a report post button too which should help keep the spam down. I wonder how long before someone says "you should have used phpbb"
I know some dislike flash but it is fast becoming a standard. It seems that a growing percentage of websites make heavy use of flash these days. As for the new boards lineup there are some nice suprises. I can't wait to try a few of them. |

Just because at lot of nerds want to try ourt whatever new stuff they can doesn't mean that tis good. Flash sucks:
- information gain 0 - load on pc grows - requirements (hardware, software, securty guidlines can very soon become a problem) not sure how robots treat flash trash, could be they ignore it -> less traffic. but otherwise it looks quite nice (could have been done the traditional way too though except for the fancy/bothersome animations at the most uncalled for places)... |

Well.. I dont have 10 years of webpage developer experience. But agree with Phill104 on the new lineups. Gotta give big credits to the one who worked it out and wanting to make a better page for the 2008 looks ( Against all odds )
It is the same tone and style as their new 2008 product catalog though, if you have seen their catalog already. Sure they will have some more adjustments on details further as you guys comment. |

The new boards look cool and I like the action videos. I've already got my fantasy board quiver worked out in my mind.

The preview vids are excellent, easily the best new site feature.
Board graphics top last year. Nice new fresh look all round. Board range nicely re-organised. Glad to see my old favourite the Start looking more like the original overachiever :-) Congratulations. |

Maybe this is the thread to post little mistakes within the new website:
1) http://www.star-board.com/2008/pages.../v_formula.php The specifications of the Formula might be right, but on the website the figures are in the wrong column within the spreadsheet. 2) Clicking the "send" button on the contact form for the marketing department leads to an error. I like the new website though it is not faster than the old one. I hope with the products it will be the other way round. Regards Andy |

Well, I'm not a software specialist by any means, so much of the comments above don't really mean anything to me, but I wonder if I'm missing anything concerning the new site. What I'm seeing is really bare bones, and it lacks any kind of graphics, photos, etc. When I open the website, literally half the visible screen is simply blank space. It's a bit unusal, so I'm wondering what's up.

I'm afraid that something is quite wrong here how this site works on my computer (an Apple Powerbook). Very awkward indeed! I'm really at a total loss here how to get on track
