Sure about your weight? I´m at 110 kilos, but for a 180 kg guy this board would be small.
Guess you´re at 180lbs... I also found the stock fin too small with that sailsize (7.4m) at my weight. it needs to be on speed to work. try to bear off more to gain speed before you start pointing. there was info somewhere on the forum that the painting on the fin causes bad performance. i´ve not yet sanded mine, so i can´t tell if it works. if you could get your hands on them, check any of the lessacher weed fins. they´re really hard to spin out. they come with a rake of 45 degrees, which makes the board more "directional". nearmost all the fins of Wolfgang work good in choppy conditions, the true speedfins maybe not (i´ve never tried them so far). But the Chameleon, Formula Duo and the newer "le wo duo speed wide rake 30" are good in rough water states. i think more "prominent members" like ed sinofski, juri munkki or roger jackson will agree to that if asked. i´m not sure if i make it to the water again this year, since my steamer is pinspotted all over and it starts to get colder rapidly. so i´m not able to promise you the test. but if it´s done. i´ll keep you informed....
