Yep, that's a carbon boom alright.
Those are some great pictures of the FOD in high-wind action, though. |

the 49er guys are only just getting carbon masts now
and eventually they will get carbon hulls the 49er guys will tell you its a false economy to sell cheaper weaker equipment. the message build it right the first time, build it to last. the 49er class should grow a bit more now starboard must put forward the best equipment which includes a carbon boom. |

Hi poster no.3
You say customs have an problem with the Aluminum boom! Can you please explain this. I cant imagine why customs would have any issue with a piece of sporting equipment. |

Customs unfortunately held up the FOD booms in the UK so long that I had to fly out to Poland 1 day before it cleared, hence the reason I am using one of my old booms in the photographs. From Poland I had to fly to the US then Aus straight away, therefore I will have the new booms at the FW World Championships in Portugal.
