Hi Nifty;
Yes you right, the rake is very important to have the great lenght balance for the board. And yes SL2 and Drake Slalom Pro have the same rake. All the best |

Thanks also...
One last question. I heard the best fin for overall performance was the sl2 46, and I agree with that, I love those fins! For overall performance, is sl2 40 or 42 the best for 7.8? I used 40 for the i-sonic 133 2007 and it felt great! I will order one, do you think, Rémi, that sl2 40 rake + 2 is a good choice? (or no rake at all on the 2008 models?) Thanks so much! |

Hi Sylvain,
Overall performance the SL2 is a good fin for sure, but I prefer the SL4 who give you a beter speed. Hum 40 is really small for the 133, my smaller one on this board was SL 2 44cm with Code Red 7,7. The rake of the Custom Deboichet is changing depend of the size, more straith in the bigger size. And all of them work great with the iSonic. All the best |

Thanks Rémi
![]() I want to be fast on the water but I heard that the sl4 lacked a little power, so I thought for the 7.8:- sl2 40 because it is powerful and fast - sl2 42 because it is very fast but there isn't enough power if the wind drops. So Rémi, just tell me what YOU would choose for long distance racing: sl2 40 or 42 sl4 40 or 42. And after this one, I'm done, and I write JJ deboichet to order it! |

Philsurf, it actually depends on the max sail you want to use. People on this forum will have a more accurate opinion but I believe if sail>8.5 go for the 133 and if sail> 9.5 go for the 145!
And that also depends on the smaller board you have. If you have the 122, go for the 145... As for us, I have a sl2 38 I wanna test on the 122 with 7.8. That will be: - i-sonic 122 + 9.0 => Drake 48 vent faible SL2 46 vent modéré ou mer formée - i-sonic 122 + 7.8 => Sl2 46 si irrégulier Drake 42 (remplacé un jour par sl4 42) SL2 38 (for test or high speed) Any feedback would be welcom, and THANKS THANKS THANKS I see things clearer now

Hi,
Tested in 10-23 kts with warp 7.8 and sl2 42, it is... Legend... wait for it... DARY!!!!!!!!! Amazing, there's a world between the 22 08 and the 133 07... About planing, I didn't feel so much difference between the two About control, well, the 122 rocks About speed, couldn't really compare, but the feeling is here About jibe, easier to begin, and speed too easy to keep That's it, I love this board, and the sl2 42 is a must have for 7.8 Question remains for 9.0. I tried the sl2 48 yesterday with flat water and very very feable wind (gusts at 12), and with energic pumping, the board flies on the water. But question is beyond 13 kts, is sl2 46 way faster than 48, or the lift of the 48 compensates the speed of the 46? Cause I can't afford 2 fins for 9.0, and I often sail in 10-15 knots... Thank you starboard and the R&D team for making it real |
