Hi Malloy

I have sailed the 09 111 Isonic for some weeks now, with different fin combination's. I noticed that we are very close to be the same height and weight, so I thought you might find it interesting in what set-up I find good.

If you are after 2 fins then I can strongly recommend the Vector Fins Canefire G-10 model in 42 and 40. For sure those will give you a step forward in speed and control.

Hi Jesper - I just picked up an 09 Isonic 111. Great board, I've only spent a few hours on it and I have found it easy to get comfortable on quickly, moreover it's improved my gybes significantly.

Keen to hear how you've set up your board and any recommendations you have. BTW, I'm 90kg and primary sail is a NP RSS 7.8.

Thanks guys for the email to Vector Fins, I am not sure that was the one I found on their website, but I wrote Jeff once more and hopefully I'll get a reply this time.

I will be looking at getting 2 fins (hopefully CaneFire fins are available!) sizes 38/40, 40/42 or 38/42; I am guessing that 38/42 would provide the greatest flexibility in sail size.

I've been wondering about this. My 07 Isonic came with two fins, a 36cm and a 42cm, but it seems as if most people tend to use the larger fins in general. I've had some success with my 36cm in slightly overpowered situations, but should I just stick to the larger sizes and ajust the mast-foot acordingly to compensate the extra lift ?

Hi Malloy

Your right about your observations on the fins, most sailors uses the larger size fin, which follows the board. The 42/38-fin option, sounds good for the 111, this will cover everything.

Malloy, please give us a report on you're new fins when you've given them a run.
