Did use the sonic 85 today for the first time after the winterstop. Sailed with RS4 6.2 and drake slalom pro 32. Tuning must get better, but had a great time on this board! Felt great in choppy conditions.
Did order a better fin, MFC SL 32. I'm a happy man

I must agree with PeterCee.......i had also the sonic 95
) and bought the isonic 87....I know the volume is a bit different but also the difference in speed is HUGE...I think the answer to your question is what you pay is what you get.....if you don't care about the money and really like speed, the 87 is a must....on the other side if you just want to be faster than with the futura the 95 sonic,is ok....(95 is also really fast ) |

Hi,
I really like the sonic 85, it's a great shape: speed with control and ease. I also tried the sonic 95 but didnt like it as much as the 85, so didnt take it. The 95 is fast indeed but it's range is limited compared to the futura 101. I will change my futura 101 for a 2009 isonic 101. |
