Hi,
I sail the Apollo 2008 in light wind conditions. It's an awesome board, I love it. The fin that I use it with, is the standard Drake 75cm fin. My question is : will I benefit from I smaller fin in medium wind conditions (when I don't have my slalom gear with me, because the stronger wind has suprised me)?. If so, what smaller fin would you then recommend. Thanking you in advance, cheers, TJ |

Hi Remi,
Is it possible for you to give advice on the medium wind fin for the Apollo 2008? A Deboichet fin? Good sailing! |

I think one good choise for you is the DB R20 Fin , Iam getting it in a few days for my SB 162 so I cannot give you real experience advices.
For my board the DB r13 soft RAKE 8 is just a compromise and nothing more so for your board it should be worse.

Ive got a 2007 Apollo its certainly a handful as the wind picks up with the standard 75cm fin. I weigh 75 kilos and normally use Point 7 AC-2 9.7 sail.
I dropped down to a Deb R17 + 6 which gave a lot more control but still a handful when it really blows. On the lake I sail on Weed is a problem so I invested in an weed fin see : http://www.designlessacher.com/Website/Uk_Duo_Formula_Weed.html[/url]. I use the 40cm it gives plenty of lift and has a massive wind range so no need to change back to the 75cm. It really sorts out this board and works well on my SB 160 in fact I find myself using it all the time. Crash |

Hi Uneregistered,
When we developped this board we do it with a Deboichet R13 75 Soft and 70 soft rake + 6cm. This 2 fins work great on it but for the 70cm we like it only over 20knots. Hope this can help All the best
