hi,
im 14 years old and i really want to start freestyle! is the flare the right board for starting freestyle and what size should i take. Im around 50 - 55 kg. i hope i get some help! tahnx, philipp |

Hi Philpp.
I am sorry to see that you have posted this before on the Pro kids forum and had no help. I do not sail starboards but I am a windsurf trainer. For freestyle the flare is perfect. I would recomend either the 88L or 99L as they will give you enough volume to do the none planning maneuvers like the gecko. As well as being realy good in the light winds. You will also be able to use smaller sails because you have more volume. The 99L may be a better bet as you may grow and put on weight pritty soon. Hope this helps. Russell |

I'm not Kevin (not sure if he uses the Flare), but I've used different sizes Flares over the last years and I htink you can safely go for the 88. Its a very efficient shape and I think you will overall have an easier time on the smaller board. For me at 68 kilos the Flare 94 (which is now the 88) easily handled a 6.3 sail. And since it will be a full floater for you anyway, I dont think you need to go bigger.

Yeah sorry, i couldn't be more of a help. I dont use the flare so I really couldn't tell you what was best.
