Default suggestion on futura or kode

100-110 lt to use in choppy condition on the garda lake.

I got isonic 101 '09 - 111 '09 and Futura 133 '09 and I would like to buy a board for tha range 15 knts - 25 knts .
Range sails 5,4 wave - 6,1 freerace - 7.1 freerace.
Fast and to jump on the chop - a sort of super x
I am 83 kg.
Is the futura 101 too similar to the isonic 101?
any suggestion please before i go into the shop?
thanks

ita200,

Someone from the "team" will probably have a more precise answer, but I was in a similar situation a while back. I have an iS 111 and a HiFly Move 105. Volumes just about the same, but the iS for me is best with a 6.6 or 7.6 sails. I have used a 5.7 and 8.4 but don't care that much for how the board handles with them. I weigh 78 kg.

If the wind is over 20 knots, I go for the Hi Fly with a 5.7, 5.0 and sometimes a 4.5. It jumps well, rides smooth in chop, jibes well and is pretty fast. I suspect that the Futura 101 is much like the HiFly but a little wider.

In your case, the difference between the the iS 101 and Futura 101 is that the Futura will offer a smoother ride and it will be much better for jumping and will be a bit better with smaller sails.

IF you don't have a board smaller than the iS 101, then the Futura 93 may be better option if you have steady winds over 18 knots. I picked the HiFly105 because it is somewhat easy to uphaul. I also have an 85 liter board when it really blows.

Hope this helps

Hi ita200

Ken elaborates well. I used to have both F101 and iS101. While the F101 is indeed more controllable it also misses some of the excitement the iS101 offers in that range. So chances are that when you come from the is101, the F101 will just feel like a damped down version. Like Ken suggests you will be much better off with the Futura 93, which will then add the liveliness of a smaller board when you change down and hence be a much more natural and fun high wind board.

Kode will be a different type of ride and in this model I think a 102 might be more natural step down even though a 94 will also work except maybe with the 7.1. But if you're gonna use freerace sails anyway, the Futura 93 is probably the better choice - it has a lot of heritage from the super cross era for sure.

Hi
thanks for you help, but it's a bit confusing. I have been in different shop and I spoke also to the italian distributor at the "e-vento" in Sardinia last week end, end the suggest me the new kode 103 as ideal super x for speed and jump on the garda lake.
Lets put in this way:
I got RRD fsw 90 and I need a board for speed and jump and the garda lake in winter with dry suit.
Point 7 range sails 5,4 power wave and 6.1 , 7.1 freerace.
Kode or Futura? 94 or 103 kode? 93 or 101 Futura?
thanks for you help.
