Hi all,
I am contemplating to get a 7.5m freerace sail and undecided between the Overdrive 2009 and Naish GrandPrix 2010 Sail (formerly known as Naish redline). Both are selling at the same price. Anyone care to comment on the performance of both sails and offer some advice?? By the way, i sail on a isonic 111 2007 and am featherweight (53kg). I intend to use the sail from wind strength of 7-15 kts onwards. Thanks for reading. |

Hi,
I use 7.8 2009 Redline and I love every minute. It is a very light sail, had no problems whatsoever with the cambers. it is quite powerful as in the winds 15-20 knots I can go as fast as guys on 9.5. Unfortunately I have no experience with the other sail you mentioned, but if Naish improved Redline than Grand Prix will be a great sail. Shame they are not producing them in 9.5-9.8 sizes. greg Angulo Magnum 83/Angulo Magnum 60/Formula 160 |

Hi,
I can't comment on the wind range because I am totally different weight class (100 kg wet). I use it on iSonic 122 and 101 and I like the sail...you have to add the spacers to prevent the cams from poping out...and I would say the recommendation for the boom length is rather for minimum value...so take in mind you need a bit longer boom than specified. On blueline 75% carbon mast it works great. I absolutely love it on my iS101...and pretty surpisingly I can get this combo going at 15 knots steady wind and I can stick to this sail in gusts well over 25 knots...so it is good! Ciao Michal.
