Top GPS Speed On Formula Board

I was wondering what the top speeds for formula boards were....

In the neilpryde video race against the machine the guys are using formula boards but I'm not sure if the ferry really was at 40 something knots...

GPS-Speedsurfing.com once kept formula records and as I recall, the top speeds were in the 32-34 knot range. These speeds were under the speedsurfing rules (average of five -10 second runs). I may not have this correct so for those that are more up to date, please jump in.

I don't believe that in the video, which I have seen, that they are going over 30 knots. The water is too choppy and sustained speeds at 30 knots would be very difficult.

For 7 years, I tried to break 30 knots on my formula boards, but I guess that I don't have the skill and weight to do it. My best is 28.2 knots. I weight 79 kg.

Dennis Littel (NED-13) held the record for a little while with a top speed of +34 knots; he was using an 11m and F2 FX-V. It was later broken by someone using a much smaller sail ...

In the Race Against the Machine video, they are actually on slalom kit. Fairly big slalom boards I imagine, but they wouldn't be going much over 30 knots in that swell.
