Hi all,
i just bought Deb R17 s- +8 for my F161. I have read that this fin is a very fast, but does not likes choppy watter. Yesterday i was on my TR5 - 11, wind about 7-8ms with gusts up to 10-12ms, small chop. When going up wind i had lots of huge spinnouts. Mast base was 2 cm back from the center. Also tried a center position, but it was even worse. How to cure this problem? |

Hi Navas, more downhaul to the sail and boom straps back, one inch at a time and test, plus don't push too hard with rear foot until you have spped.

Hi Navas,
that fin is working only for very very light sailors and untill 10m sail that is my experience. My two cents for your case are, go for r13 soft(-) 6-8 rake (very good for 12-18 knots) or go for VMG XXS Custom wich is a fantastic fin especially for very light winds (6-12 knots). mY WEIGHT IS 83KG. AND 183 cm tall Christian Frey - gre 969
