Just bought a new Isonic 145 (2007 model), it was delivered with a Drake 60 cm fin. I am going to sail a 11m Code Red and a 8,5m North Warp. Is the fin suitable for both sails? The 2007 site ranges fin size 46cm up to 58cm? Is 60cm not too big? Any experiences?

Jacco,
How much do you weigh? What is your experience?

Hey Ken, i'm very experienced. Slalom is relatively new, i'm more into wave. Since the kids are progressing on the Starts i like to join them on the water with the Isonic. I'm 1.90 and my weight is a little less than 90kg.
My quiver; Pure Acid 86, Aero 117, Isonic 145 and two Starts North; Voodoo 3,4 and 4,2, Ice 4,7 and 5,3, Duke 5,9, Zoom 7,0, Warp 8,5 Severne; Code red 11,0 I can sail the Aero with a big wave fin and with a Drake slalomfin 42. I'm thinking of buying a 50cm Drake slalomfin to use both for the Aero as for the Isonic with the Warp depending on the conditions. The only problem is that the Aero has a tuttlebox so i have to use that type for the Isonic as well. The Aero is a little to small to uphaul the sail for me so i need enough wind to waterstart. I won't have that problem with the Isonic. grtz Jacco |

Jacco,
I don't have any experience with the big iSonics, but given the recommended fin sizes for the 145 and your weight, I would say that the 60 would probably work fine in light winds with your 11m. The 60 would probably be OK with a 10.0, but anything smaller will be an issue. No question you will need another fin, probably around 52-54 if you want to try to cover everything with two fins. If you want to go to three fins, then maybe a 48 & 54. Hopefully, someone with personal experience with this board will jump in and give you some additional advice.

in addition to my earlier reply;
i just added a Severne Code Red 9,0 and a 6,7 to my quiver. I won't use the North Warp 8,5 or the North Zoom 7,0 anymore. I want to add a 7,7 Code Red to complete the slalom-quiver. With the Isonic 145 and the Aero 117 (with a 42 Drake Slalom Pro fin) i hope to cover a great windrange with the 4 Code Reds (incl the 11,0m i recently bought). Any suggestions for additional fins?
