Which board to replace my 2007 I sonic 145 technora 8.4

Hello,

After 3 years, I would like to replace my good 2007 I sonic 145 l technora.
I windsurf only by the sea in south France close to Spain in 8-15 knots with Sail the loft O2 8.4m2 without camber.
I am 1.75m and 71 kgs, (30 years of windsurf).
The i sonic 145 2007 was very freeride I think and the new I sonic 2010 seems only pure slalom.
I need a lighter board (wood carbon thechnologie) but which model I should choice ?
I sonic, Futura and which volume ?

At 71 kgs you can definitely move down to a smaller Futura. I think you're right in saying that iSonics have become very slalom oriented. I just got a Futura 93l (im 55kg) and it's a fantastic board. I think that you could move down to a 133l Futura if you're sailing mostly in the upwind range of what you mentioned (>10knts). This board can take pretty big sails and will definitely give you more topend than a technora 150l board, despite its slalom design.

If the wind is mostly in the lower windrange then a Formula would be ideal. At least with this board you're going to be planing through out the whole windrange and as you're already using quite a big sail (8.4m), going slightly bigger won't be too much of a challenge.

This is just my opinion, but definitely the good windrange to get some formula equipment.
