Hi all,
I want to get a sail to max out the windrange of my Futura 93l. Currently I have a 5.8m for it, but the range of this sail is pretty huge thanks to the 4 cambers, which is why I've decided to opt for a cambered bigger sail. According to Christine in the French Forum, the Futura 93l works really well with a 7.0m and a 34cm fin. In France I've seen some really good discounts on 2009 NP sails, and I'm hesitating between a V6 6.5m or V6 7.0m or V8 7.0m. A friend, who has the same 460 mast as me (a Tribord 460), has told me that his older V8 6.5m rigs quite well on this mast. I would use this mast if I got either sail in 7.0m. If I opt for the V6 6.5m I will have to rig it on my Gulftech 100% RDM, and I'm not sure how the sail will work with this mast (maybe the cams won't like the RDM....). Any advice on which sail to choose? Anyone disagree that the board works well with a 7.0m (which is 0.5m2 over the recommended sail size)? Thanks.

Hi,
All I can say is that Tribord masts work fine with NP V8. I own myself a NP V8 7.5. Perfect camber rotation, perfect sail outline. A few years ago Decathlon sold the NP V8 sails together with the tribord masts. |

Thanks for this confirmation. Good to know I don't have to buy another mast.

Hi agrelon,
i have a F93 and F111 and F133 and just sold my F122. Sails 5.8 & 6.4 Naish red lines(3cam) V8's 7.0 ,7.5(for sale), 8.0 and 8.4RSS(sold). I'm 85kg. I've made some mistakes with the sail and board combo's. The 8.4 is to big for the 133, the 8.0 is great (so is the 7.5), 7.5 is to big for the 111, however the 7.0 is great (also the 6.4). The 6.4 and 5.8 are great for the 93 however the 7.0 is a bit to big. It's not to say that you can't carry these slightly bigger sails, however i felt there is little advantage in it, even if you fin them correctly for the sail size. I sail on the open ocean and very little on flat water, hence due to the rough water state a large sail seems clumbersome and doesn't give you any earlier planning. Seems to just bog it down. In flat water you can seem to get away with it a bit more. Hope this helps KJ |

I have the 2009 red wood F93 and F111 where I use a 6.5m V8 on the 93 and a 7.5m V8 both red 2009 models. These sail sizes work great for these boards at my weight of 80kgs. I only change fins and outhaul when the wind gets stronger.

Thanks Remi. That is exactly what I need, fast board but not so demanding. Fast but not to fast, 35kt hahaha, and when is choppy water and wave sail is on good for jump.
What do you think about Select fins. Recommendation? It is very difficult to get c3 venon fins in Croatia. |

Hi Shimeone,
We try many fins before select the C3 Venom and none of them can give the good combination of top speed and keep the board super easy in all condition with very good jibe. As said Agrelon, order on their web site directly, super easy and fast Hope this help All the best
