Yeah, for sure more tail in the E71, but it's a totally different shape so not directly comparable to the Kode. I have (very...) exact data on the Quad 69, but just not on this computer. I think the tail was somewhere just above 33. But I do think's it's gonna be a bit small for 80 kilos.

I have now read every thread I have found about the Evo IQ and the Quads for 2011 :-) And I must say Ola, you really have produced a lot of quality text about the boards. Big thanks for that!
I think I will change my 2010 Quad 81 for the new QIQ82, which I understood should feel a bit looser and able to make tighter turns. The fin setup is atractive also as you also can sail with the big finns in front and get that massive drive on the wave what is the thing I have liked very much about the 2010 Q81 i lighter wind conditions. And for the windy stuff I will get the EvoIQ71. I understood its based on the Evo70 shape which was a good board. Cheers! |

I was thrilled when I read that Evo is back. But when I saw those tail dimensions I was little skeptic. I thought that tail is too much for me. I'm 173cm and 70kg.
But I just got opportunity to test EvoIQ71 and tail feels much narrower than it is. Overall nice board for Scandinavian conditions. Maybe I have to update my gear. |

That really good to hear, because a was very worried also about the width of the 2011 boards. My biggest problem was picking a board for 3.7-4.2 weather, so I hope the EvoIQ71 is good when it gets a bit windy...
For 4.7-5.7 again there is a lot of boards to choose from and Im really looking forward to try the new Quad. Do you know if anybody has the EvoIQ71 in DK or SWE on stock? They have the Quad in DK so I will have a look at that, but not the EvoIQ. It would really help to see the shape, as now I have only seen the pics on SB home page... |

Drop me a line on ola.helenius@oru.se and we'll set something up. |

OlaH: that would be really nice, thanks!
I was yestarday ordered by the doctor to rest min 2 weeks and get some physio therapy because of overburdened muscles in the shoulder and arm :-( We had really good E-SE wave/freestyle weather for nearly 2 weeks in a row so I managed to awake an old injury... I will drop you a line later this autumn.... |

I think the 13 cm front fins are still available to order from STarboard so if you really want them it should be possible to get ahold of a pair. Otherwise you can contact Tarifa fin company (if you're in Europe) and let them make you a fin. They make both symmetric and asymmetric fins, but for this board I think symmetric is better, so be sure to specify that. I think something in the 13cm range would be a good high wind fin.
