Over the weekend the Italian AICW Freestyle Championship took place at La Cinta Bay as part of the San Teodoro E-VENTO - one of the regions largest windsurfing festivals. The bay looked impressive with its surf village that included stands full of the seasons latest windsurfing gear, and a huge sound stage where concerts kept the party going late into the night.

In the competition, a total of 40 competitors entered the events covering Master Class, Junior Class, Absolute Class and Women's Class.

With the competition reaching its highest and most competitive level over the past years, it was exciting to see a lot of new riders an juniors entering and battling each other. Right from the start, the public were rewarded with a fantastic display of modern and spectacular new school manoeuvres: ponch, double rotations, shaka's and all the new switch stance tricks.

After a heavy day of competition in 20knots winds and choppy water conditions, Matteo Guazzoni was rewarded as Italy's Absolute Championship, 2nd Lorioli, 3rd Franciosi, with Raimondo Gasperini (Starboards-Hot).in 4th. Sharing 5th position were prowindsurfer , Andrea Rosati (ex Italian Champion 2005), the Sardinian local Valentin Ruggio, young gun Vittorio Mazzocca and Filippo Buratti.(ex Italianan Champion 2006).

In the Masters Class, Starboard's Raimondo Gasperini topped the score board to become the 2007 The Italian Windsurfer Championship Freestyle Master.

In the Juniors Class the winner Vittorio Mazzocca is followed by two young guns athletes Filippo Bestetti(Starboard) and Fabrizio Emmanuele.

In the women's Class the winner Greta Benvenuti is followed second position took place , with same ranking, Francesca Floris and Annamaria Zollet.

The event ending with a very generous prizegiving, rewarding 3000Euros all the top riders classified.CLASSIFICA MASCHILE
