Severne S1 2007 on Powerex RDM

Hi,

I??ve just received my new S1 Wave Sails, beautifull! Anyone who tryed them on a Powerex Skinny yet?

Hi Holger

We recommend the Severne Red line skinny for all the S-1.

If you can't get those masts, then your Powerex mast will be our 2'nd recommendation.

Hi,

I'm reentering the surf scene, updating my sails from 1990-NeilPryde RAF wave to Severne S1 2006.(4,7 and 5,3)
This is a budget choice and so is my search for a mast.
I can buy a 85% carbon mast from Gunsails. It is a 2005 model.
Thise site (http://www.boardseekermag.com/equipm...lade_s1_05.htm) interviewd Paul Hunt who said that the S1 from 2006 go with any 400cm RDM because the sail is not demanding. Is this gunsails mast a good option or should is search longer?

Does anyone know which mast should not be bought and why not?
I only read about "this works fine" but never read why it works fine.
What kind of shape is build in the S1? What type of mast reduces the power or windrange so much that it is a bad choice?

Powerex and Severne and CAAS is OK.
But how about: Tushingham, GunSails, HotRods (Maui), Arrows Magic Stix, North Gold, NeilPryde X-combat, Gaastra?

Hi,

with the SI you should use RDM only, I think Tushingham will work

GunSails I think not,
HotRods (Maui) maybee, I don´t know,
Arrows Magic Stix, no RDM?
North Gold, no RDM
NeilPryde X-combat, no RDM
Gaastra, wrong bend curve ....

My S1 work perfect with Powerex!

Thanks for the reply on the mast-list.
North does have a Gold and Platinum RDM. I've also found a x-combat with an rdm indication on ebay.
But never the less, I just ordered a new CAAS mast. It is a 'cheap' powerex like mast, build in Slowenia or something. Cheap is 249 euro. (www.zuidwest6.nl)
Now all I need is an extender and wind!!
