Hi, I'm 75kg sailor from the Czech Republic. The conditions where I usualy sail are very different from lake flat water to north, baltic or meditearean see waves. The sails that I use are 3.7, 4.3, 5.0 and 5.8. My old boards were NewWave 81 and Pure Acid 68. Now I would like to change the boards to some modern freewave shapes, since I tried EVO 83 and I loved it
![]() Do you think, that it would be possible to have only one board? for example quad convertible 76 (2010 version, since I have very limited budget) that would handle all the sails from 3.7 to 5.8? (I could replace 5.8 with 5.5 or 5.6) Or is it necessary to maintain two boards around 80 and 70 lts? In the case, that two boards are necessary, which way would you recomend to me: a) keep my Pure Acid 68 and buy Quad convertible 76 or 81? And sometime later replace Pure Acid... In this case I would like to be able to return from the water even in very low wind conditions with 5.8 (or 5.5-5.6) sail, and on the other hand I would like to be able to comfortably sale with well powered 4.3 - if it is possible to meet this two conditions. So I don't know if 76 or 81, maybe I see it more for 81, but as 76 has almost the same width its dificult to me to decide. b) buy used EVO 80 2007 and 70 2008 which I can purchase now for a very reasonable prices... sorry for a quite more complicated question, thanks a lot for any advices |

HI Pajik
Two boards are always handy. But the new quad convertibles are also very nice. New 77 or 74 not an option?? If you were to go for the 2010 quad option, I'd go the 76 at your weight. BUt might get a handful in the stronger winds But if you really liked the evo's??? Maybe the two board option at reasonable prices in the go. Sorry I can't be too much more help there Scotty |
