Default Update fins for an outdated (but still valid) Formula 161

--

*** For ALL ***

I (finally) would change my old 70 cm Deboichet R13 S+ fin (old grey series) with a more updated formula fin for my F 161.

Despite everything, R13 is still a good FAST all round fin but, racing against newer fins, its limitations are evident especially in upwind angle.

I have seen a lot of brands have specialized in making very soft fins because of improving just upwind angle; so what fin do you suggest for:

board: (2007) Formula 161
sail: (2009) Gaastra Vapor 11 m
sailor weigh: 85 kg
wind condition: light to medium

Thank you in advance for any help.

Good morning, Expander,

Not sure why others have not replied but you might try these sites:

http://www.windsurfingfins.co.uk/

http://www.f4fins.com/f4company.htm

I am not a Formula sailor, so I cannot offer any guidance on particular fins.

Hope this helps.

Hi Expander,

The Virus and Z Fins are really good one and not expensive particularly for the Virus.

The normal Virus deliver really hi performances and you can not be desapointed and at the same time save money

All the best

Thank you, Remi, for reply.

As I've already written, a friend is proposing just an used VIRUS but, unfortunately, I have very few informations about this manufacturer.

Do you know if they have a web site and how many Formula fins models does they produce?

Regards.
