Isonic 127 2011 vs 2012 and weedfin?

I would like to ask two questions.

1. Could You please more exactly describe the differens between the "eggshell" Isonic 127 2011 and Isonic 127 2012. A potential buyer i Sweden hesitates and I understand him.

2. What kind of weedfin do You think would suite Isonic 127? Is Lessecher Chamelon 36 ok or is it to small? Other choice?

i don´t think there is any difference in construction between isonic 2011 and 2012.
It´s not an "eggshell" its carbon fibre fabric, epoxi, polyurethane (sandwich) glass fibre, and Extruded polystyrhene.

2. I ride a isonic 127 carbon with a chameleon 36 and it´s way to small in lightwind but works without spinout with a 9.3 sail, it´s a lot better when powered on a 7.6, but then the board starts to feel too large.
Check out lessacher duo weed formula, i think it will work better for light wind.

Hi Pelegrin,
As Kapten suggests the Lessacher Duo formula (40 cm) will work well for sails => 9.0 m2 .
If you use smaller rigs, the Duo Weed 36 will be fine up to 8.5-9.0.
They shed weeds extremely well and are almost impossible to spin out. Go upwind pretty well for a
weed fin as well.

I wonder if You could help me with anouther - If I want to be real fast using Isonic 127 with 7.5 - what fin would You recommend, if I not sail att open sea?

I allready have two Select S10, 51 and 46 cm. Will they do?

Read somewhere else on this forum that 2011 was 80gr/m2 carbon+60glass on deck and 2012 was 150gr carbon...there are so many other factors than just the weave

Those finns will do more than fine! I found my 127 really sensetive on trim regarding mastfoot position, more so than most boards
when powered on. A 7.6 1-2 cm made a big difference. Move it back and this board will really fly of the fin

I would defenitly try the 46 with a 7.5 first anyway, if you are powered up.

Will go out in the garage and check where i have the straps an so on... getting the right trim is the way to speed, and expecially to handle chop.

I´m 190cm and 86kg, so you have to take that in to consideration regarding trim.

I use the middle hole on the front strap, and the front hole on the back straps. I have my boom fairly high.
Start with the mastfoot in the middle, stop and move the mastfoot back 1cm at the time untill you are flying of the fin but still in control.
