Water in boom arm

Somehow water is getting into the boom arm of my old NP x7 boom. Any advice on how to keep it out? I suppose I should stuff some sort of foam into the arm once all the water drains out?

I'll be at home depot later today - will look at different kinds of foam I could potentially stuff down the boom arm.

Presently, the water drips out slowly when I remove the boom tail, so I guess that whatever plug is in the boom now has failed and lets in water when submerged; and slowly releases it when boom is stood up.

Just have had the same problem, in an old Tecnolimits boom. A friend, former surfshop retailer, told me that usually the problem comes from the boom clamp side, so I've unscrewed the arm from the clamp and then made an hole in the inside plug, let the water go out and the arm dry for some days and then covered the hole with some sylicone.
Note that the plug oth the lamp side is near the arm end and so easy to reach, on the extension side is far and difficult to find. Imho obvioulsy

Haven't found suitable foam in home depot. Any ideas how to plug up the boom? I'm pretty sure that the water comes in through the plug that is deep in the boom arm. T

he boom provides for 50cm of extension. so the plug is naturally deeep in the arm.

Hi,

water in x7 or x9 booms in a few cases might be due to hairline cracks in the boom's frontend. Hence, the boom "sucks" water, when immersed in cold water followed by an internal pressure drop. Filling the crack with resin should help.

Anybody experienced something similar?
