Recomended sails isonic too big ??
Hi all
Im sorry i dont understand why the 7,8 is the recomanded ideal sail for the isonic 107 or the 7,2 for the 97 ! I feel much more confortable on the isonic 117 whith the 7,8 as when the wind gets down i float more easily and i can still go on I wait 88 kg so the 97 needs 6,2 or 7,0 whith solid wind Reagrds juan |

If you have to float your sail isn't big enough......
Recomended sail size is spot on, I really like sailing even the 8.6 on the 107 (a combo Ben was also using in PWA ) and 7.8 is in planning conditions the sweet spot. |

Like Frank, I also don't have a problem when the wind goes with an 8.6m/iS107 (even a 9m is ok). No one rigs a sail to be underpowered, but we all get caught out some times I guess

I understand you all but let me ask, when yousay if i dont plane then thesail is not big enought, then i will plane best on a 117 i gessŋ

Hi Juan,
both combs are working really nice. 107 with 7,8 and 117 with 7,8 or even 117 wide with 7,8. But if it comes to top speed and the water is a bit choppy I would recommend the 107 as the ideal boardsize for your weight and the 7,8. On flat water or lakes with sweet water, like itīs at my homespot, the 117 or 117 wide can keep up in certain windconditions with the 107 indeed. The big advantage of the 107 compared to wider boards is teh fact, taht it jibes quite narrow and aggressive. Thatīs one of the main reasons why slalom racers prefer the 107 in comparison with the 117. Which sailsizes do you have? Cheers, Chris
