Hi there,
I want to ask a question to everybody who can help me with choice of optimal isonic. There are three types I wonder of: 137 year 2011 (wood), 127 or 137 2013 year (wood or carbon). There are some details about me: I mostly sail inland waters. Wind is not regular. Sometimes it gets choppy a bit. Wind 8-25 knots. I already have formula 162 and isonic 111. I have some sails and want to cover gap beetwen 111 isonic and 162 formula. I was wondering mostly of 137 - sails I have Tr7 7.6 and 10.0 plus vapor 8.6 - I saw recomended sail size for 137 2011 and 137 2013. The 137 2013 don`t have such a big range of suggested sail size. My weight is 82kg I,m 190cm height. - Here are my questions: - Which of these boards will work better with this sails? I would like to have opportunity to use three or at last two of them. I can`t afford another sail for this season. - Will 137 2013 could work with all of them? - Shall I choose wood or carbon? (I prefer control and easyness of drive) Thanks to everyone who can help by giving me a tip, Greetings, Jacob |

Hi Jacob,
I am similar weight and height to you, intermediate level, non racer. I have 2010 111 wood, 2011 127 wood and F161. I like the spread, it's working well. During winter/early spring the wind is gusty so I like a larger board/smaller sail combo. I had a fun sail on the 127 with a Code Red 7m. I'm sure some people will say that's an odd combo but it was great in the gusts and kept me going in the lulls, maybe 8-22kts. I've tried a 10m and it's ok but I only have a 48 fin, probably better with a 52. I think it's better on the formula for 10m weather. I have an 8.8m Code Red and seems to be the sweet spot. Have also tried 7.8m today in gusty conditions and it's fine too.

Hi guys,
Thanks for reply, I don`t race slalom nowadays, but who knows maybe when I got more practise on Isonic I`ll try it. I prefer to stay on slalom rules. I`m mostly strugling with decision beetwen 127 and 137 - can anyone tell me please what the real difference is beetwen them. Three years ago I got some advice here and I was very pleased from my choice, know I need it again, so leave some comments and opinions if possible please. Greetings, Jacob |

hi
i have used the 127 this year its a good board and has a wind range just between your formula and your is 111. For your weight i would advise the 127 over the 137
