Hey there!
Anyone using the 2007 Severne Overdrive 10.0? If so, please comment on how you like it. I am looking for a 3 cam freerace sail for my 2006 Starboard Formula Experience. I am 150 pounds, don't race, just recreational sailing (and the associated drag racing that comes with that...). I like the sails with the cutaway clew, it helps me avoid buying another boom, if I can keep the boom length down to 250'ish or so cm. How is rigging, power for early planing, stability/speed, etc.? Any alternative recommendations? Thanks in advance! -Pete |

Hi,
the Overdrive is a great sail. I like it a lot, I mainly use the 11.0 and have used the 10.0 in windy days. I used it mostly in the Gorge during the Formula Experience Worlds two years ago and I really think is a great sail. Have lots of range to use either in light or strong winds. I will strongly reccomend this sail. Best luck! Ricardo Guglielmino Starboard Team |

One of the worst sails ever.
What a waste coating a race sail with paint? It looks horrible. It adds weight. It adds zero performance. It scratches and your sails looks old. Why paint a sail? If Severne Sails can approve and manufacture a painted sail for production, then it must give you a few clues about the design. That it, probably bad as well. They must be a smart bunch over there at Severne Sails! |

Well, actually I am now leaning towards the Sailworks NXfw 9.9 and 8.5, as I already have a Sailworks 490 SpeedStick mast that would work with the 8.5.
In asking around I have heard nothing but good about the NX's, so I will give those a try... Thanks for the input! |

The Sailworks is a good choice. I have always had great success with Sailworks .. it would great if they could get a bit more publicity and hence sales. They should sponsor the PWA and a few pros on the PWA tour.

Hi All,
The Severne Overdrive have a very big succes here in the FE Class, but also in slalom. Even with the paint that people love it here, we have no problems with scratch (very good paint quality) and the sail is still the ligther one compare to the other compagny. But also the profil give a very good power with good stability. Excellent results in many windsurf magasine, so very good product. Have fun

I have the overdrive 10.0 terrible sail ,and feels very heavy - must be all that crappy paint that they coat their sails in to make them look 'modern'.
Use it with the blueline 520 Matt |
