Tufskin is heavier but also more user friendly (both regarding for example handling on land and towards the skin or suit on the person using the board) and cheaper. And of you look at the product section, you will find that customers actually have a choice between tufskin and the two high tech constructions wood and technora. Both of these are also lighter this year. I don't have the final weights, but my Kombat 79 (which may be a light one) is 5.85 kilos.

Well personally I see theTufskin technology in freeride as a very good idea too.
There is now more possibilities to choose in case you cant afford a more expesive board.
Tufskin is a great technology, strong, durable, cheap and well, some heavier but thats the deal.
Since the Formula Experience boards (same FW boards in tufskin technology) appeared, the people racing in my country multiplied at least 10 times.
I hope to see more people getting into freeride now that there is a choice of this boards.

Best luck!
