Have you or your any other sailor you've known ever micro-tuned your fins by sanding down the foil? I imagine that now you take what's given you and use it, but in your long career, I wonder if you haven't tried to come up with a shape with which you felt better without changing the fin.

I leave this up to the pro's. For micro tunning I think they can do a much better job then I can! I talk with them sometimes and tell them to try a thinner foil or something like this but for me to start sanding into one... I think they know a bit more than I do!

Certainly they know more than I. However, I don't know any of them. Fins can be expensive, so if I think one needs a thinner foil, I'm sanding it down myself. I just couldn't afford to buy a new one if I wanted to alter the one I'm using. In fact I just sanded one to thin the foil. Sailing with it, I know it didn't hurt and may have helped. Whatever, I had a great day of sailing!!! I hope you have many like it.
