Hallo guys, proud owner of a 122 isonic, superfast and easy to handle, but im
having spinout-problems when i ride it with a 9,2 np rss with the 44cm drake fin..Boom is "ok" chin-high, base is "over the middle" of the track, and i have plenty enough downhaul... Same second i try too push the board hard, i spin out.. Do i need a bigger fin, or is the sail just too big for that board?...Its ok for "back and forth" saling, but its hard to point upwind with this combo..7,8 with a 42 tectonic is working supersmooth for me... thanx in advance |

9.2 and 44 too small for hard upwind

the 122 is a sweet board. and Duracell makes a good point - for light wind/big sail sailing i was using a 48cm (tectonic) fin
might be also worthwhile (if its a option) trying a different fin - the 07 Drakes weren't working quite as well as some other options - and the 'drake' sticker sits a bit proud as well - could be worthwhile sanding it back lightly first preference bigger fin.... |

Interesting, do not have this problem with the iSonic 125 and Drake 44. Favorit combo is with a 9.0 Code Red. No spin outs going upwind. Ofcourse you can get a spinout with every board/fin. Actually bought a 48 fin for very light conditions, haven't tried it though.
