Does the 10 sqm Overdrive work well with a Blueline 490 and tip extension?
I would like to keep costs down by covering 8 + 10 sqm with a single mast. I am 75 kg and will use it as light wind sail for my FT148. Not for racing, just recreational cruising with the ability to handle the inevitable gusts. Michael |

Hi Michael,
One realworld advantage of the OverDrive is a very wide tolerance on mast tuning (much more so than Code RED or other super race specific sails). I've not tried the exact combo you specify, but the use of the tip extender on the 490 will help soften the overall mast curve just a little, which in turn will tune the sail a little softer in the leech ; less grunty and a little more top end. For a light to mid weight rider on an already grunty sail, this will not normally be a negative And actually could be a positive. Cheers ~ Ian |

Thanx Ian,
I will consider this a viable option for my FType quiver. /Michael |
