I'm thinking about switching from my iSonic 125 to a 133 to improve light wind sailing. I'm 92 kg.
Will the iSonic 133 be a lot better with low wind compared to the iSonic 125 (both with a 9.0 Code Red)? Or do you need a bigger sail to really improve the planning capabilities? My smaller board is an iSonic 94, would the gap from 133 to 94 be too big? At what weight is the iSonic 144 the better choice? My sails are Code Red 9.0 7.7 and 6.7 plus a Simmer SC Racing 5.7. I sail the 125 with 9.0 and 7.7 and the 94 with 7.7-5.7. |

Hi Hook,pa 18
Light wind saling is very tricky and requires a lot of rider skill experience etc.. Sometimes a bigger sail(9.8 compared to 9.0) can be even worst if you dont have the right pumping teqnique or even after the gybes it may stick the board to the water..For your weigt the best combo would be 133 and 101.. but for sure 133 will be better in very light winds compared to 125. cheers bora kozanoglu |
