picking a board

I realize that riding a few boards before you buy is the best way to evaluate which size is best for you. But if you live in the boonies and have to relie on magazines for info the choise is hadder. And once the purchase is made you are stuck with it. I have narrowed the boards to an iSonic but what size? 125 or 115? My large sail is 9.8 and I have a carve 111 that I ride with 5.0 and 6.2.I have ridden the 111 with an 8.3 but that makes the board feel really small. The 111 is the right volume for me so I am leaning toward the iSonic 115.

Can you please give a few more details to enable a more accurate recommendation ?

- Rider weight
- What min/max/typical sail (wind) range do you want to work with a new iS?
- Typical water conditions where you sail.

Hi Frank,

Unless you're obsessive about riding the smallest board possible in the conditions (can be a valid consideration in super choppy locations) then the iS125 will be the sweeter of the two for 7.5 thru 9.8m.
Realistically, even on the iS125 (122) the 9,8 is going to be bigger than ideal, and something like a 9.0 sweeter as a light wind sail on that board. (9.8 on iS111 /115 won't work well, at all. No test ride in the boonies required for that one!

I am so happy slalom is back it was always my favorite disipline
I have a 147 formula board and was looking for something to go between that and my 111 carve without buying new sails.
sails are 5.0,6.2 grind 8.3 ,9.8 and 11.5 Nitro
