Sail /mast

Sails NP V6 V8 Helcat.
I wonder what will be the effect if I use North Platinum 100 % Carbon mast with the Neil Pryde sails.
The recommended mast above NP sails is mainly NP X6.I have North platinum in good condition.

Could anybody tell me the best solution.Replacing North mast with NP X6 or
there will be no negatif effect and could use North mast with my NP sails.

North masts and NP sails do not go well together. The North masts are typically (strangly enough the bend curve on different North masts seems to vary a lot) not soft enough in the top for the NP sails.

tests in the german surfmagazine have proved that you are far better of with a x3 mast than with another brand if you don't want to spend money on a x6

False !!!!

You can use other brands...
Some have been compared with PRYDE X9 on RS6/RSR

- AMEX with the RAPTOR in 430/460/490 ( 2010 only for the last one )
- REPTILE Green MAMBA since 2009 ( the one with Pryde bend curve )

- GUN SELECT ( yes man, not to bad )

These 3 ones are less expensive and better on Pryde sails, than a X6

For the NORTH PLATINIUM !!!!
Try an other mast...

Hi Papounet

Just to be clear.You say different mast brand possible but it is not the carbon % content ıssue.Simply some brands like Gun and amex works well with Np some not.

You do not recommend North Platinum.Right?

If so I have to use Np or Gun mast and sell my platinum..
