Some of that NP monfilm quality doesn't seem poor. I have (a low end) one from a few years ago that literally sounds like a crisp packet in the gusts when given lots of downhaul. And a bigger V8 where the monofilm is deeply scored by rigging creases near the luff. I'd be interested in the Aerotech VMG - good materials and easier on the mast. But no availability here.
