For Remi RE iS150 08

Hi Remi
I can get a good close-out deal on an iS150. My current light wind boards are an iS111 (7.8 and 9m) and iS144 (9m and 11m). I have found that in 9m mode, the iS144 does not really get going much earlier than the iS111. For this reason, I'm thinking of swapping the iS144 for a iS150 08.

I have not seen an iS150 in the flesh so can not compair it with my iS144. In the 2008 SB iS briefing, it says that the iS150 is very thin! Is this refering the the nose area, the tail area or the whole board?

My question is: Is the tail section on the iS150 much thiner that the iS144? The area I mean is, from the rear of the board upto the front footstrap.

Hi Mark h,

The iSonic 144 is almost the same as the 133 but with more volume for heavy height, so this board will not early planing for a light weight compair to the 133.

Yes the iSonic 150 is much thiner than the 144, and plane much earlier than 133 and 144 due to is wide. Outside the PWA rules box, so we make it a bit different with straps more inside and slight more volume in the nose to have a better balance in non planing compair to the 133 and 144. I really like this board with 10m² but 9 and 11 work on it.
What is your weight?

Thanks for the reply. I'm about 105kg. I really like the iS144, XL slalom boards feel more fun for light winds than when I use to use FW. Although the iS144 is much bigger than the iS111, in 9m mode and active pumping I can get the iS111 going in nearly as little wind as the iS144. This is why I'm thinking of going with the iS150 to open the gap between the iS111 and iS144. I was just a bit worried about the thiner/slimmer tail section effecting the power generated from the tail.

Hi Mark h,

No worries, the board really plane earlier than 144 and 111 by far and much more easier. The thickness is close too normal iSonic, only the 144 who is really thick to stay in the PWA rules.

Mark,

iSonic 150 tail and rear rails are a lot thinner than those of Formula 16x or Apollo for example.

Just to give you a rough idea: I've got a 105 kg pal who is using a Formula + 70cm fin + 11 m2 sail combo to start and sustain planing as of 8-9 knots of wind. He needs about 12 knots of wind to plane with a Carve 162 + 52 cm stock fin +9.5 m2 sail combo.
