Default Best isonics for French Long distance - 70 kg rider

Hi Kevin,
I'm 1,78 m high and my weight is 70 kg.
I want to buy the best equipment possible for long distance in France with 2 boards and 3 sails.
First for the sails I hesitate between 5,8 - 6,7 and 7,8
and 5,8 - 7,2 - 8,4
For the boards I hesitate between isonic 86 and 111 or isonic 96 and 122.
What do you think would be the best choice ?
Thanks in advance.
Philippe

Philippe,

I think you should go with the 86 and the 111. For long distance you want to have the fastest board possible and I think the 86 is the fastest out there. I haven't tested out the 111 yet but hopefully soon.

Hope this helps.

OK, I will go for 86 and 111 with 5,8 - 6,7 - 7,8 then.
It should really make it :-)
Thanks for your quick answer and for your advice and good luck for next season.

French long distances, needs different boards en sails.
West Races => Most of time FW and Slam between 60 and 75, sails 6.5 => 12.0.
- 7 =>25/30 Knots.
South Races => A lot of boards..... and sails.
- 15 => 50 Knots.

For exemple, Philipe needs a smaller sail than 5.8 for the biggest LD race in the world ( 800 people this year ) Gruissan. Mostly you have 20/35 Knots, but often 40/45 and last year 62 Knots gusts............................................. .

The fastest board is the one who leads after 10 or 60 Km dépending from the race with a lot of wind conditions.

Cool Best isonic

Hi,
just to tell you, I finally got the 86 only because I had to limit to 1 board.
But I bought 6 sails : 4,2-4,7-5,2-5,7-6,2 and 6,7
I've tried my board in Leucate 5 times in strong wind conditions : 30 to 50 knots :-)
It is perfect. It is fast and I can manage to control it in strong wind so I'm happy with it.
I need to test with the GPS but my feeling is that the speed is very good compare to the others and without much effort.
So far I've tried only with 4,2 to 5,7. I haven't tried with 6,2 and 6,7.
I've also bought few fins to adapt to the various conditions.
I've registered for the "Defi Wind". I'm pretty excited to see how it goes...
