I damaged the bottom of my Futura (2008) when removing the fin. It seems like just the paint is damaged. The white layer is off. But I can see the 2nd beige/brown layer.
Is that a problem? My board will not suck water now? |

Maybe you better talk to the Severn overdrive sailor who thinks the paint on his sail is causing his cams not to rotate! Good conspiracy theory ! |

Hi Unregistered # 1,
Check out theboardlady.com It is a great website for info on board damage and repair. Their is a section on how to figure out if water is getting in and what to do about it. Good luck, Shayne |

Hi unregistered,
Where is this damage...? Right around the fin box? If so, it should not be a problem with water intrusion as the fin box insert extends more that 1/2" in all directions around the fin cavity. If it's on the deck, and you only see the brown foam layer, is the glass on that brown layer cracked? There is at least one additional layer of glass under the brown high density foam, so a little touch up paint and your board should be fine. |
