Hay! I bought new futura 133, and i have two nocam sails..6.5 and 7.5. My weight is 85kg.
Original futura 133 fin is 48cm..it is optimal for 7.5. But when I want sail with 6.5 on flat water which fin length to chose? Maybe original fin would be ok. |

I've heard that the general rule for fins is 5x sail size in m2 + 3. So according to this for your 6.5 something around 36cm would be right. However, for a tail that is so wide I think this would be too small (especially with the straps in the outboard position).
http://www.select-hydrofoils.com/en/selector/freeride/ According to these guys you're going to need something around 38cm. Hope this helps.

or 40cm? board width is 76.5, and fin range is 40-50. Which model?i think that 40cm select srx freeslam or something like mfc RC would be appropriate.

Yeah, 40 would probably be fine. Definitely better than 48. A Select Easy Rider in 40cm could be good fin. It's probably quite powerful due to it being targeted at avoiding spinout. The freeslam might give you more top end though, not sure.

For a no cam 6.5 sail, a swept back freeride 40 cm fin is spot on.
Cheers ! JM |

Rémi,
Thank’s for the link, it is very informative but it doesn’t address the fin size or type for a 6.5 freeride sail for the Futura 133. I’m in a similar boat as the original poster. I am also looking for a small fin for the Futura 133 but with a different twist. I have an Isonic 101 that I use for racing and I would like to get a fin for both the Isonic and Futura. The fin would be 40 or 42 cm for the Futura with a Naish 6.6 Sprint or the Isonic with a Naish 7.6 Stealth. I do have a Maui Fin Company 38 cm slalom fin for the Isonic so I’m probably looking at a 42 cm fin that I can share with both boards. The problem is there will be a compromise if I get a freeride or a slalom fin. The question is which is the biggest compromise, slalom or freeride? For the record I’m a little over 79 kilos. Coachg |

Hi Coachg,
The Venom is extremelly fast fin can work on the iSonic but also this excellent for the Futura and make the Jibe extremelly easy and fast. This will make also on the iSonic but will be less agressive than a Deboichet Sl4. But you are looking for compromise so that will be perfect. For the size I will say you 42 cm on this profil, enjoy yours boards All the best
