Default Atom or Kode 103?

Hi, i want to buy a new board but i'm confuse, i don't know what will go better.
I'm a 70kg sailor with high level in slalom and waves and medium in freestyle and i am looking for one board for the lake (usually 15-20 knots) fur use with my S1 5.9 for basic freestyle (volcano, helicopters, 360...) and fast freeride (some times with a element 7.5 or similar), and eventually in waves with a very light wind because i have an Evo 90.
Like y don't know de Atom i,m afraid that it don't suites correctly the program.
What is the diference between the Atom and the Kode 103?
Thanks for your comments.
Regards
Mikel

The Atom has more of a focus on waves and maneuvres than the K103 which is faster and better for blasting. For modern freestyle type stuff I figure the K103 might have an edge, but not by much and for classic carving stuff I think the Atom has an edge. The Atom has the ability to run strapless which can be an unusual and fun feel, particularly in slow waves where it forces you to re-think your sailing a bit.

The K103 and the Atom in fact has the same ancestor which was the original Aero 117. The Kode since grew into a faster design, but the Atom is instead a thinner version. So for real wave sailing I'd say the Atom is better. It's still a fast rocker, so it complements the EVO 90 in that way, but with a lot of outline curve and thin rails it will still be very fin in waves and it will plane earlier and be more effective upwind.

Uff i don't know what to do, because i don't want a wave board, i'm looking for a freestyle and slalom board (impossible engineering jeje) but i don't think that i will use it for waves because with my Evo 90 i have enough.
I don't know becuse y could change my Evo 90 and take a 80-85 and the 99 Atom but i have only 70 kg and it can be too much ltrs.
Very dificult.
Thanks for your help.

I have the Kode 103, which I am happy with, though I am not nearly as advanced as yourself.

The atom has and unusual fin type for a board suitable for freestyle and for wave use, and it comes with a pretty big slalom/blasting fin, on the flip side the kode has the US box which makes finding a big slalom fin a pain. I eventually found a 33cm select fin which seems to help in that regard.

Hi Mikel
I am 83 kg and use a Kode 102 as my very light wind board (6.3 S-1) Feels a bit big, but sure beats going home. I also use it for blasting on the fjord, great. We also have a Flare 98 in the family
For freestyle the flare with a 16-18cm is the best. The top speed is also great S-1 5.9 is perfect. (Element 7,5 I can't say, but perhaps with a larger fin)
I use the Kode in waves with the 6,3. I Can uphaul on both.
I have tried the Atom and found it interresting, only flatwater.
If I was 70 kg and had a evo90 and wanted to do some freestyle and blasting on flat water, I would go for the flare 98 and stay with the S-1s
Best of luck
Lars H.

Thanks to all, at the end i goes to wait more because i haven't sold my flare 104, but for the next board i will look for a more slalom oriented board because the flare is too much freestyle for me. i think that in few weeks i will try one Atom.
Thanks to all again.
regards
Mikel

If you want more blasting oriented, I think the Kode is better than the Atom though. Or a small Futura.
