Hi all,
I'm looking for a new fin for my Futura 93l as I feel that my Drake Freeslalom Swift 30cm is a bit small. I saw a couple of people talking about the Talon fins. Unfortunately there is no official information about these fins for the moment on the website, but the other fins are relatively cheap compared with other high end fins. Has anyone tried a Talon on a Futura? I would probably get a 32cm or 34cm depending on how relatively powerful the fin is. Any feedback would be appreciated, Thanks.

The Talons are the best fins I put my hands on, ever. I don't think you can go wrong, and I would suggest a 34 to use with a Futura 93. My Talon 40 is used with an Isonic 111, in place of the original Drake 38. I also have a 30 and 34 Talon that I use on my Carbon Art SL 52 and 58.

I've just got my hands on a second hand JP Super X 34cm fin, I'll see how the board works with that and if I think the size is ok I think I'll opt for a Talon or a C3 Venom (they're almost the same price).
Davide, how long did your fin take to arrive after ordering? Thanks.

Remi, now I'm seriously considering a C3, as their shipping time is really short. Have you have a chance to try out the Sting? Would you still recommend the Venom?
http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/t...TOPIC_ID=65475 This guy has some really good comments about the sting. Thanks, Adrien

Hi all,
I've just ordered my C3 Venom 36cm. I'll let you guys know my first impressions (though my 5.8m RAM is out of action for the moment and is better suited to the fin than the sail I'll be using in the mean time, an old 5.6m HSM Psyclone). I can't wait.

Hi Agrelon,
Sting or Talon are good fins for slalom boards but C3 Venom give you on top of this and excellent jibe and give you more comfort in the straight line. So better on Futura. Hope this help and waiting for your comments Agrelon. All the best

Gee, really? Hard to imagine something more comfortable, forgiving or easier to jibe than the Talons ...

Got a good session with the Drake fin and the 5.6m sail I'll be using for the moment yesterday. When over 13 knots, with flat water, this fin was great, the board was balanced, no spin out. Also did my first planing jibe, this was probably due to going from a race sail (my RAM) to a 5-batten freestyle sail.
The board came off the plane quite quickly though. Pointing upwind, mainly slugging hardly ever planing, was very poor. Now comparing the Venom (which has just arrived at my door though) will be more accurate as I have a good feel for my setup's characteristics. I'll make a full review in a different thread of my C3 Venom experience. Cheers.
