Hi Rémi,
30 years of windsurf, I am 1.75 and 70 kg. My light wind quiver is 8.4 O2 The Loft and I sonic 145 2007 technora (9kg), (I have also the quad 66) and I want to get a better light wind planning. I sails only in the sea around Perpignan. In all the forum, I can read that you advice i sonic 121 and nearly never i sonic 131 or 144, a I sonic 121 wood carbon would be enough for me because of the light weight of the board or do you still advice me a 131 or 144 wood carbon ? I know that a O2 8.4 is not may be the best sail to fit the I sonic but it's a great sail, you should advice to replace by a cambers sail ? Many thanks in advance. Frédéric |

Hi Frédéric,
At your weight and the sail you use no need to have over iSonic 121 W/C, if you go to 9m + at this time Ok for the iSonic 131 but not the iSonic 144 who is specialy dedicace for very heavy sailors. By the way sure you will get better performances and balance with a minimum 3 cams sail. But this is up to you All the best

I have the iS 121 WC 2009 and weigh 10+ kilos more and surf ~30 kms further south (bahia de rosas). The iS121 has replaced my iS133 and Tabou manta 135. I'm wondering if you might not be better of with a iS 111. A windsurfig colleague here (~79kg) has a JP Supersport 69 (same size as iS111) with a 46 fin (too big) and a 8.0 sail and gets really going in 10kts. So the question is: how low do you want to go? I wouldn't be surprised if the iS111 would suit you better.
