Hi docgr. I'm not sure this will be of any help, actually I am sure it wont but I would like to say I am experiencing the same problems as you. I'm 185cm and 80kg. My front foot constantly wants to creep back and at times in rough water, out of the strap. I am however on a 09 Futura93. My front straps are set back and inboard and rear straps forward and inboard as I'm constantly sailing in rougher water rather than flat on this board. I have also tried all mentioned here to fix the problem but so far have not been able to sail this board at it's full potential due to my concern the front foot will "pop" out when travelling at speed.
I hope your sort out your gear soon docgr. Please post if you find a solution! |

Hi.
I have a lot of experince with that as an previous owner of SB HS. -Lower the boom -More Downhaul -more Outhaul -Masttrack a bit forward -Move the front footstrap a bit backwards, more power on the frontfoot And the most important parameter: -A sail with stable deep forward, draft profile With regards, John J |

Pulling more downhaul does moves the sail center of effort more backwards, this means more front foot problems UNLESS the sail is more stable and you move the harnasslines also backwards.
Most sails do get more stable with more downhaul. Hope this helps

A photo might help: look how people are sailing is a "squat" position with the body weight forward. You can see it clearly with FRA809/TUR33 Last edited by davide; 14th August 2010 at 12:44 AM. |

For Radiant X: ... wich sail are you using?
For me: on the same board (the IS 86) i've tested the new Rs-slalom MkIII ltd ... both the 6.2 and the 7.0 .... and ..? no problem at all with the 7.0, quite the same thing for the front foot with the 6.2. (my post was referred to the older 2007 model) .... lowering the boom helps a little, also the mastrack a little forward (but the board seems a little slower) ... not much help ... I understand ... :-) Giorgio |

Thanks docgr. I'm using Ezzy Infinity & Freeride sails (2008-2010). I also have a Starboard Kode86. I know, very different board but I don't have this problem when riding that.
Thanks for your suggestions. I hope we both find a solution soon! |

I agree with Mark H. Move the front straps outboard.
take a look at Jem Hall's website, he has some good comments on footstrap widths for wave riding that have helped my slalom sailing on my Madd 135.

Hi docgr,
I often hear these complaints from guys using NP race sails. If all of the advice you have received does not work, then, by increasing order of € amount: 1) change your front footstraps. The Drake super lights (black ones) should help 2) have additional front inserts plugged into your board, in a position that suits you better 3) change to a 6.2 from another brand.
