iSonic 86 slim or iSonic 86

I am gonna buy a new board this year and I found 2 boards. One of them is iSonic 86 wood(2009)(600€) and one of them is iSonic 86 woodcarbon(2010)(700€). I am gonna use this board in 18 knots+ and I'm 73 kg. Which board would be better for me?

Isonic 2010&2009 exist only in wood.
You should go for the 86 and not the slim. I feel confortable with the 86 above a steady 22 knots with 6.2. For 18 knots and your weigth I would not recommend the slim.

But a racer in here said the iSonic 86 slim is easier to jibe, easier to control and faster

He must be right. But at 18 knots and in a racing context I would go for the one with more volume. Outside of racing and if it's more for fun, the slim is probably the way to go for high winds.

Hi emir633,

Even you are quiet light at 18 knots is not the 86 Slim to go, this board is more for over 20 and for me at 90 kgs I used it at 25 knots and more in chopy condition.

Steve Allen at 80 kgs use the iSonic 86 Slim in the PWA but not under 25 knots.

I asked Taty Frans to comment (75kg) and he said he strongly recommended the regular 86 for 18+. Only at 25/30knots+ he would take the SLim, he wrote.

I'm 72 myself and have the regular 86. I'm only freesaling on it (no competitions) but I'd say it's and EXCELLENT and super easy jibing board.
