I am 87 kg and need a small board beneath my 126l.
Level: intermediate-advanced. I need a good convertible board that works on lakes (chop) as well as in small waves (1-3m). Sails: 3.7 (seldom) 4.6(sometimes) / 5.3 / 6.3 (sometimes). What would you recommend? Does the 86 plan significantly later than the 94 or is it similar? May I use a bigger fin for earlier planning and the 6.2 sail with the 86l? How do 86 and 94 compare? What would you recommend? Thank you! Mauro |

87 kg, Code 86 and 6,3 sail, I dont think it will work with the 6,3 sail. Go for the 94 board.

Hi Kode,
if you will use 6,3 more often than 4,6 I would suggest the 94 as well. If you use the 6,3 not often on the small board, and a 6,3 definitely needs volume - the 103 would be better - I would suggest the 86. The 86 works great with sails from 4,2 to 5,3 and you could use a 3,7. Out of my view the 86 covers more sizes out of your sailrange. But if you will use the 5,3 most of the days, the 94 is definitely a good choice and the gap towards the 126 would not be too big. Hope it helps, Chris

3.7 to 6.3 - that's a really big sail range, simply there aren't any boards that will cover that comfortably. I'm 86kg, sail on a river, and use a kombat86 (kode predecessor). For our weight and this volume (on a lake), you need pretty strong winds. Go for the 94, good pair with your 125, just forget 3.7 for now.
