Does the overdrive 9.7 work with 490 mast-plus base extension

Does the overdrive 9.7 work (well) with the base extension HD and a 490 mast instead of a 530 mast?

I can see that the reflex slalom 9.6 works with this combination. And the overdrive 5.4 works with both 430(recommended) and 400(compatible) mast, the overdrive 6.7 works with both 460 and 430 mast, and the overdirve 8.5 works with both 490 and 460... but the overdrive 9.7...?

I have a blue line 490 mast and dont want to buy a new mast.

So either I will go for the turbo 9.2 or an overdrive 9.7...
IF it works okay with BE 40 and 490 mast I will go for the overdrive 9.7. . I have already ordered an ultrasonic 147.

Hi Mop

It will be a much better combination to have the Overdrive 9.7 with 490 mast than the Turbo 9.2 on the Ultra Sonic 147

All the best and you will have a lot of fun in lighter winds much more than Formula for reaching

Because of the longer boom lengt on the overdrive 9.7 I need a new boom. Will the enigma boom 210-260 be stiffer on 250 length than the alu race 250-270 on 250 length?

Hi again; just one more question about the overdrive 9,7 and the 490 mast + extension.

I asked this question to severnesails some weeks ago and got an answer from simon at severne today, and I wander just HOW much bottom end I loose using my 490 mast. I am not a light weight guy(90 kg) and I buy this ultrasonic and overdrive 9.7 to get light wind performance. Is there much bottom end to gain if I buy a 530 mast?

You will be able to rig the OVERDRIVE 9.7 on the 490 and Base Extension 40.

It will make the sail softer and a bit flatter but would be ok for a lighter
weight guy.

The Turbo will be a good option if you want to be sure of the performance on
the current 490 you own.
