I realize that the R19S is da bomb in light air but how would an R18S +6 compare to an R19S +8? (on a 160). I assume the R18 could go into a higher wind range but would give up a bit in the light stuff.
I also would like to know how it (R18S +6) would compare to my older R13 M +8. Would their benefits Thickness/Softness offset each other and overlap too much? Any help would be appreciated. |

Hi Skybotch,
The best fin I was using on my F 161 and that I am using also on my F 161 are : F 160 & F 161 : R19 soft -- rake +8cm until 15 knots F 160 & F 161 : R 13 medium rake + 8 cm over 15 knots But yes the R19 give you more performances on the F 161. For the R18, I do not like this one, not enough power and do not glide enough compare to the R 13. All the best

Hi,
With SB 160 my best fin was R18S-(+8). I changed R13S+8 because the R18 had more speed at same upwind angle and more easy to go downwind. The R18 is more technical than R13, but if you can handle it, the R18 shows good performance (8-20 knots). To find the right fin it???s also the matter of personal preference, rider???s weight, style and technique. |

Hi Rom,
Yes it's more technical as the R17, their are good fins, but have you ever try the R19 soft -- rake +8cm? We make the test with riders from 60 kgs to 100kgs. This one is a lot more easy like the R13, but with a lot more performances until 15 knots + or - 2 knots depend of your weight. All the best
