Default Fin for Futura 122 and 8.5 sail

I am looking for a bigger fin for Starboard Futura 122 and 8.5 Ezzy sail. What would you recommend? I am 163 pounds. The Standard fin coming with the board is 40cm Drake. Fin range recommended with the board is 32-44

I was looking at MFC Liquid Pro Tuttle 44cm or 46cm Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Roman

Hi Roman,
If it helps Ive sailed the board with a 44cm with 8.5 twin cam sail and also a 7m cos I was too lazy to change and seemed fine and not over finned, but not sure about the 46, maybe a touch too big....

Thanks Remi and Alan for the answers. Remi, i understood from the link that for 8m 44cm fin would be perfect. For my Ezzy freeride 8.5 i'd like to have the fin to get me planning as early as possible. Is it still 44 or should i go to 46. If 46, how low on sails i will be able still use 46 fin? The next size i do have is 7m
Thanks,
Roman

Hi Roman,

44cm will be enough for your 8,5 and you can use it comfortably until 7,5. On 7mē it will work but it will be not optimum, better to reduce for a 40.

All the best

Hi Roman i've used a 46 select ride on my 122 and 8.4 rs slalom. The ride has very good bottom end and you can really load it up against the sail, however when powered up it does have abit of drag. It's really a light wind job and the 46 is right on the limit for size. it started to heel me up when really powered up with my 8.4

cheers KJ
