hi All,
i normaly use the formula 160 in my home spot with a 11 m. for the sea and for another spot i use carve 122 , but i m looking for kombatt107 d ram. my weight is 80 kg and my sails are 5 - 5,8 and 7.5. my question are : i can really use k107 with a 7,5 ? fin ? the 30 cm incluse with the board or i have to by a 34 freeride fin ? how my knotes i need to star planig with my 7.5 ? thank you, bye. matteo |

I'm sure tat you can use a 7.5 on the 107 kombat but you should then get a bigger fin (like 35 cm).

I've been told that 31-32 cm is the upper limit for a US box. Maybe this is different on a new board but the US box is not very deep.

Last years Kombat 106 had a 32cm fins specced, so up to that depth is definitely OK, and the box should be plenty strong so I guess it should handle a bit more.
The original 30cm fin for the K107 is probably a little bit too small for 7.5 for most people. But you never know until you tried it, so give the original fin a go first. As for planing limit in knots - I dare not say. Its very, very individual. |
