Anyone using 2011 Quad as a twin?

Just wondering if anyone is, and prefers it (or has a lot of experience of using) as a twin?

The supplied fins are very small and whilst it is supposed to make it skatey they are so damn small I can't see they'd work for wave use at all. Was Starboard trying to make it freestyle-ish and the twin setup is not really designed with waves in mind?

I have an 82L, what do ppl recommend I do with the 15cm twins? Go to 17cm?

Yeah i run my 74 as a twin with 15cm fins. I like it. I've only sailed it half a dozen times times now but so far i'd have to say that it is my preferred setup for overpowered sailing in rough conditions. I find the quad setup to be quite prone to spinout when its messy.

No issues with fin size.

I'd definitely give it a whirl and see what you think.

I have the same experience with my Q82 and twin 15s in it. In rough, overpowered conditions it is my preferred setup. The board is loose and skatey with the twins and it doesn't take much back pressure to slide out the tail, but once you get used to it, you'll find it a fun ride.

I have a 2011 Q82 and like it as a quad - big fins at the back - too unreliable as a twin...

Have a Quad 82 2011. Used the Twin setup in side onshore conditions with Blade 4,5. Felt really easy going. Perhaps a bit looser and sometimes less control as a quad, but started off quick and early and had good upwind performance.
